The Media Relations Intern is expected to work 5-7 hours per week during regular workplace hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Draft media materials (i.e., press releases, e-mail pitches)
- Actively reach out to and follow-up with members of the media
- Monitor HARO/ProfNet for media opportunities
- Coordinate media interviews
- Log all media placements
- Update the Newsroom portion of the Web site (no HTML knowledge required)
Location: Virtual
Expected Duration: 12 weeks; option to renew/extend

Required Qualifications:

- Junior or senior pursuing undergraduate degree in PR, journalism or a related field; also accepting applications from recent graduates
- Minimum of one prior related internship
- Able to work independently, but under supervision (virtually/from home)
- Access to the Internet
- Driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
