Public Affairs Intern

The Public Affairs Intern is expected to work 5-10 hours per week during regular workplace hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).  Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor legislation relevant to Come Recommended and its audiences
  • Serve as a liaison between Come Recommended and congressional staff members
  • Research appropriate coalitions for Come Recommended to join; serve as a liaison to these groups
  • Spearhead letter writing campaigns for appropriate legislative issues

Location: Virtual
Expected Duration: 12 weeks; option to renew/extend
Compensation/Benefits: Free career coaching and products from Come Recommended and its sponsors; course credit (if desired); virtual environment (no commute or relocation!)

Required Qualifications:

  • Dedicated to the mission of Come Recommended - connecting the best internship and entry-level job candidates with the best employers
  • Must become a Come Recommended member prior to starting
  • Junior or senior pursuing undergraduate degree in political science, public policy, political communication or a related field; also accepting applications from recent graduates
  • Minimum of one prior related internship
  • Strong research and customer service/client relationship skills
  • Able to work independently, but under supervision (virtually/from home)
  • Access to the Internet
  • Driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic
